The Junior League of Pasadena celebrates 90 years of evolving community service Tuesday at a special birthday celebration at the Kidspace Children’s Museum, a facility which actual is the result of a 1978 Junior League pilot project.
Members of Pasadena Community Gardens Conservancy, a “homegrown” foundation of local philanthropists, have invested $25,000 to sponsor a garden and orchard at Madison Elementary School in Northwest Pasadena. The Conservancy Board of Directors recently joined by Mayor Terry Tornek, Pasadena Educational Foundation officials, and representatives of Pasadena Unified School District for a combination groundbreaking/grand opening, with parents, pupils teachers, and school board members wielding shovels and trowels.
The women of the Junior League of Pasadena put on a fun-filled night of cocktails, food and good conversation to kick off their 90th year.This throwback party included a fun photo booth, framed quotes and period music. All proceeds went towards the Junior League’s annual fund which has been helping community organizations since 1926.

The Junior League of Pasadena, Inc. honored Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard with the inaugural Junior League of Pasadena Community Impact Award and Jane Popovich with the 2015 Nancy Reed Payne Achievement Award at their 2nd annual Simply Speaking benefit luncheon held at the University Club on April 11, 2015.
